the Leaked data belongs to users who have registered in 2009-2011.

The attackers stole the personal data of more than 33 million users of a Russian service for instant messaging QIP.ru. Security company HEROIC received leaked information from the user Jabber ID [email protected] previously also provided the stolen data to users Last.fm and Rambler.

The leaked database contains the names of 33 380 559 users, their email addresses, phone numbers (for some accounts), the date of registration and passwords without hashes or salts. HEROIC researchers together with journalists Softpedia have confirmed the authenticity of the data, trying with the help of these e-mail addresses and user names to register new accounts and change passwords.

According to the researchers, the leaked data belongs to users who have registered in 2009-2011. Given the duration of the incident, we can assume that since then, many have changed credentials. Those who did not, suggest to change passwords.

We will remind, recently it became known about the leak of user data Mail.ru and Gmail, Vkontakte, Dropbox, and LinkedIn.
